Winter in the Biesbosch Line
In winter, too, there is plenty to do in the Biesbosch Line. From a light parade or Christmas concert to a candlelight tour or a cruise. There is something for everyone.
Hiking, boating and fresh-fried gurnard
Get into the winter atmosphere during a snertalk in the surroundings of Fort Giessen or the Biesbosch and warm up afterwards with a delicious cup of hot pea soup. Book a guided tour at one of the forts and spot beaver tracks during a winter cruise through the Biesbosch. Get freshly baked gurnard on New Year's Eve, visit December 9 Winter Wonder Woudrichem in this fortified town or come to Andel that evening for a parade of lights with vehicles.
Out and about in the Fortified Town Triangle
Winter is anything but dull with our neighbors in the Fortified Town Triangle, too. On Slot Loevestein there are candle-lit tours (with Glühwein and Oerhollandse stamppot!) In Gorinchem the winter fun is also in full swing: the indoor skating rink opens its doors from December 16. In short, there is again plenty to do.
Heritage and nature
In the north-west of North Brabant, lies the Biesbosch Line. This beautiful area is home to ancient heritage and beautiful nature. The area covers the municipality of Altena with its 21 towns, including Woudrichem, and the southern part of the Biesbosch.
